2022 Teacher-Adviser Training Course Version 2
The COVID-19 pandemic is unlikely to be the last crisis we will face in our lifetime, and it’s not the first time that school leaders have been called upon to lead through times of ambiguity. Challenges faced by school leaders have ranged from rebuilding after environmental disasters to supporting communities through economic, social and emotional devastation. During these times, school leaders have provided clarity and direction, built resilience and instilled hope as they remained focused on the best possible outcomes for their students and school communities.
In addition, the sudden shift from a classroom set-up to distance learning, it directly challenged the knowledge, mindsets, and skills of our teacher workforce including the capacities of our learners. And as a new school year has already started and the global pandemic remains, educators and learners are bracing for these abrupt and temporary changes to take root because of the uncertainty of the situation.
With this, the Bureau of Learner Support Services – Youth Formation Division is to provide technical assistance and continuous training for the teacher-advisers of the student organizations in schools but not limited to Supreme Pupil Government (SPG), Supreme Student Government (SSG), Youth for Environment in Schools-Organization (YES-O), and Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD).
This Teacher Adviser Training Course is an opportunity for teacher-advisers to effectively manage their student organization and deliver curricular support for Personal, Social and Emotional Education Development especially this time of COVID-19 pandemic.
